Requirement Definition

The requirements concept is one of those IS/IT concepts where there is no standard and widely accepted definition. This is a result of many views from different people that are somehow interested in the development of information systems. Words such as “needs”, “features” or “functionalities” are frequently used as synonyms. A classical definition from Kotonya says that a “requirement is a statement about a system service or constraint”.
